Our Quirkiest Thailand Experiences…
Our Quirkiest Thailand Experiences…
Discover our most memorable Thailand experiences, from swimming with sea snakes to cooking with poo!
We’re big fans of Thailand at Ladies What Travel; the majority of us have visited several times and are keen to return when we can!
Some of us are already planning trips for later this year, Covid-19 permitting, but what’s been keeping us going in the meantime has been chatting about the adventures we’ve had there in the past.

It’s been fun reminiscing over the unique experiences we’ve had in Thailand, and reminded us of how great a country it is to visit.
Although we loved exploring its temples and palaces, some of our most memorable experiences have been a little more unconventional, so we thought it would be fun to share with you some of the quirkier Thailand experiences we’ve had so far…
Necessary, making this the first true generator on the Internet. It re are many variations of passages of Lo rem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injectedeed eedhumour, or randomised words which don’t look even slightly believable.
We’ve all got our ‘special places’ in Thailand and mine is Koh Jum. Visiting for my 40th birthday, we splashed out and stayed at Koh Jum Beach Villas, where we had our own private beachfront villa with a jaw-dropping view out over Phi Phi National Park and the Andaman Sea.
On our first evening we headed down the beach to one of the local restaurants for dinner and quickly discovered that when the sun goes down, the crabs come out. And I mean literally ALL the crabs. As we used our iPhone torches to light our way, we’d see hundreds of crabs run for cover when the light hit them!
It was amazing to see so many like this, big and small, all along the beach, and our nightly ‘crab watch’, as I called it, was one of the things I looked forward to doing every evening. It might have been something very simple, but it felt magical to be surrounded by nature like this, and the memories of ‘crab watch’ make me smile every time they come to mind.
Traveling in India: A Truly Life Changing Experience
As I wander through crowded streets, people shoving each other as rickshaws whiz by and cows do their business in my path, I can’t help but think of all the people who come to India searching for inner peace.
I’m having enough trouble finding outer peace; incessantly honking horns and aggressive touts providing a headache-inducing soundtrack.
The pollution is so thick in Delhi I cough black, while some of the country’s most sacred sites — like the Ganges River (Mother Ganga) — have been thoroughly abused (oddly enough through festivals and the Hindu belief that the Ganga is self cleaning).
Beggars are relentless, and your heart will break seeing small children being trained to beg and do tricks for the local mafias, while getting slapped across the face for not performing up to par.

It also made me question the way I travel and the perceptions I felt about where I was.
Was I wrong to feel lucky to live in America where toilet paper and clean drinking water are readily available?
Moreover, as a photographer, it can be hard to put down the camera, and I hoped that people realized that my intentions were purely to capture daily life as it was — the good and the bad — without any “poverty porn” aspirations.
I think back to some of my travel highlights over the years: surfing in Australia
You could wear your favorite sandals without worrying about stepping in fresh cow crap. Instead, my biggest worry was what wine to pair with dinner (vs whether two bites would leave me clinging to the toilet for a week).
Travel Experience in Nepal Day Tours Nepal Travellers Story
It is hard, to sum up, a beautiful and great trip in a few words, but Nepal is quite impressive. It offers incredible landscapes, many different, between the snow-capped mountains, the wild animals in the parks, the views of the valleys, the horizon, the calm and relaxing villages, Kathmandu which moves everywhere, the Magnificent lakes, nature to the horizon … These places that allow us to be in osmosis with nature, with ourselves … Nepal takes you the words from the mouth! And I know I still have a lot to discover … The Nepalese population as pleasant as the landscapes is a kindness and an exceptional kindness. They are helpful, smiling, relaxing, courageous and strong despite the hardships. We loved their companies, and I want to thank those who fell on our path and who offered us these priceless moments, it is also you that makes us want to come back to Nepal.

My Travel Experience in Nepal
I went to Nepal in November 2015 accompanied by my Friend Himel, and we were amazed by this country. A lot of feedback tells us that we started with a single country and that few will reach the height of Nepal. We arrived by Sauraha, at 5 am, and woke up in excitement, not sure why the bus stopped, on must go down, we are lost! But a charming Nepalese comes to offer us his help, explaining that it is the border of India / Nepal, accompanies us for the few administrative steps, introduces us to his friends, make us taste their incredible…
Unfortunately, it is the time of the exit for our road, but the first hours in Nepal are already rich in emotions.
CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK SAFARI TOUR
We stop in Lumbini. These few days of rest, calm, nature, and visiting majestic temples are precious. The meeting with Jupiter (our host) and his family is very appreciative also, he is smiling, interesting, and warm, he advises us on our tours, and we greatly facilitated our way to get to Chitwan National Park. Arriving at our guesthouse in Chitwan, we offer a meeting of an exciting young man, we offer you a drink for our arrival, and so we present the different offers for Chitwan. Son of speech easily lasts one hour … Tent everything to coax us, big gestures, small jokes, a few French sentences…
Once in the village, we met 2 guides of Chitwan, who on the fast grave agreed to our visit to the famous National Park. We found them the next morning, and we had a magical day with them. On a market more than 25 km along the day and without feeling it, we discovered plants, insects, experienced guides, on a chance to see several rhinoceros, crocodiles, families of monkeys, A trail of a tiger, a wild boar … the guides handed us their knowledge and were excellent company, we even ended our day sharing a beer with them, and we kept discussing a few hours with These warm guides.
